Detective Putman is currently assigned to the Heroin Opioid Response Team within the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit. Detective Putman has received specialized education in conducting overdose deaths investigations, a current member of the Tennessee Dangerous Drugs Task Force, and training from the Organized Crime Unit in the investigating and detection of illegal drug activity. Detective Putman has been a police officer since 2009, a narcotics detective since 2015 and has participated in numerous firearms arrests, drug arrests, drug seizures, and drug investigations during his career as a law enforcement officer.
